Stability vs. Growth

Recently, I listened to an inspiring podcast episode about dream jobs. The host shared their personal journey of building a business from scratch, reflecting on the valuable lessons learned along the way. Although I have no experience in entrepreneurship, the episode deeply resonated with me because of the similarity between the host's mindset and my own.

When envisioning the future, everyone prioritizes different values. Those with stable careers may not feel the need to constantly push themselves to grow; their job security acts as a safety net for a lifetime. However, for others, such stability feels monotonous. They would rather build something of their own, even if it means struggling to survive. These risk-takers often face panic, stress, anxiety, and doubt throughout their journey. Yet, for those who persevere, the skills and experience gained from building something from the ground up are invaluable.

From my perspective, holding a pharmacist license acts as a shield for survival in modern society. As long as our work isn't replaced by automation and we continue to update our knowledge, we need not worry about financial instability. However, I cannot imagine myself doing the same routine work day in and day out for the next decade. I believe in the philosophy that "you only live once," and I feel compelled to reach my fullest potential. This is the core motivation behind my desire to try new things and acquire new skills. Although this mindset makes my current life more stressful—with much tighter schedules compared to my colleagues—I believe in the value of this growth and trust that everything will pay off in the long run.
