Unsurprisingly, this restaurant is in the Michelin guide. Somewhat surprisingly, it didn't even score a bib. I get it, it's not fine dining. But the food was soooo fresh and the price v reasonable. 番薯爸爸 has a pet hate of fine dining restaurants that cost a fortune and ends up in him eating oatmeal when he gets home because he’s so hungry! No complaints at Food for you where we ate till 攬住個肚 and had to get a doggy bag!
The crab salad OMG. Big chunks of crab (1st pic). The tiger prawns, humongous! Never seen such big meaty tiger prawns in my life! (2nd pic) The seafood is fresh direct from the coast. There are only a few tables and the employees live on the upper floor, so it feels like private dining in someone’s house.. Run by a couple and the chef (husband) comes out to chat!
The only inconvenience is booking. Absolutely essential. We delayed trying because of the hassle of booking. We didn’t have a Thai SIM card. 番薯爺爺’s Thai neighbour’s daughter offered to book for us whilst we were dining with them. She confirmed that it was a great restaurant when we brought it up, which made me want to try it more. It felt a bit odd to ask someone we’d met for the first time to call for us, so we left it. Finally, I found a way round it. Food for you has their own facebook page. I messaged them to book and it worked! Hmm.. just looking at the clips on their page is making my mouth water all over again…
