Huge thanks to the festival jury for recognising this story — a piece inspired by my years living and studying in the UK. It explores the disorientation and quiet strength of a Chinese female immigrant navigating unfamiliar ground. Though fictional, it’s rooted in truths I’ve witnessed and felt deeply. I’m grateful to have met this story.
