美國郵局

這是位於Monterey downtown(Webster & Harthill Street交會口) 的郵政總局，外表看起來古色古香，很像是郵政博物館，如果仔細進去看，在門廊的左右邊確實有兩幅很古老的壁畫，似乎在訴說著美國郵政的歷史，走進郵局之前，抬頭可以看見招牌也很有歷史味道。
進去郵局之後，照例是排隊等候，在等候區，陳列了許多紀念郵票與新發行的郵票，在其中竟然看到美國郵局今年發行了紀念農曆新年(龍年)的套票。每張郵票面額是$0.45，套票共12張，每張$5.4美元。想到出國前捐血中心所送的龍年郵票才一張，多麼小氣啊!
所以，毫不猶豫的買了兩套套票，現場拿了一個信封套，填好地址準備寄給女兒，再請她轉交給雅芳他們兄妹(如圖)，沒想到服務人員說您現在這種用的信封是掛號信，每封至少5.4元起跳，平信的信封在旁邊而且您在信封下方註明中文之後，仍然要註明國名(Taiwan, R.O.C.)，否則送信的郵差看不懂中文，根本出不了美國國境。過幾天就會收到來自美國的龍年郵票!

On January 23, 2012, in San Francisco, California, the Postal Service™ will issue a Lunar New Year: Year of the Dragon stamp (Forever® priced at 45 cents) in one design in a pressure-sensitive adhesive (PSA) pane of 12 stamps (Item 576900).
The Year of the Dragon stamp is the fifth of 12 stamps in the Celebrating Lunar New Year Series. The Year of the Dragon begins on January 23, 2012, and ends on February 9, 2013. The stamp art depicts part of a colorful dragon figure of the sort manipulated by dancers welcoming the New Year. Artist Kam Mak created the eye-popping illustration. Art Director Ethel Kessler incorporated elements from the previous series of Lunar New Year stamps to create continuity between the series.
