《Sorry for Your Loss》
We don't mess around here. This is a serious group for serious loss.
No anger. Just deep, deep disappointment. I'm used to it. I disappointed Mum the moment I was born, and every day after that.
Who's the only other person who might understand even an iota of what I'm going through?
《Sorry for Your Loss》
《Sorry for Your Loss》
I always just had this sense about her. Like she was acting. Like she was an empty shell and there was nothing underneath.

《Sorry for Your Loss》
We'd divided everything up until that point, but now we'd emerged it was clear there was not enough love for both of us.
I've often wondered what would have happened if I'd emerged first. How life might have turned out differently. Because there is another photo of Mum with her newborns. This one was tucked away in the back of a cupboard for years.
She's gone. Just like that, snuffed from the world as though she barely existed at all. She didn't exist, though. Not really. Marcie's death, Dad's departure. They ruined her. Ruined her for me. She still had one living, breathing child, but she chose to mourn the one she always loved one.
