Andy Lin is an author and editor of “A Book A Year”. He writes science fiction while conducting academic research. His writings focus on space exploration and the future of human life in the universe. In the short story “Searching for the Demon King at the End of the Year”(在一年的最後搜索魔王), Andy depicts a ghost ship suddenly appearing in a space colony, with a Buddhist layman attempting to uncover the mystery. The story “Even if Coconut Turns into a Cat”(即使椰子變成貓) begins with a strange event where cats continually die on an island. The investigation reveals the war trauma behind a human psycho-weapon called “Nostalghia” (ностальгия).
With the members of “A Book A Year”, Andy introduced the development of Taiwanese science fiction in The Seiun Award (星雲賞, Seiunshō) in 2019 and 2024. Andy is also the editor of the novel “Beware the Snip Snip, Black Cat !” (小黑貓不想被剪蛋蛋), which has won the Grant for Young Writers, Ministry of Culture, Taiwan in 2022 and was published in 2024. In recent years, Andy has begun reaching out to foreign publishers. In the future, he hopes to introduce the works of “A Book A Year” in different languages.Book
