The Corridor of Memories: Mirror of Truth
"Heavenly Tribulation? Why me of all people? I barely cultivate, yet my soul keeps touching the secrets of heaven..." Hu Ji muttered with a troubled expression as she stepped out of the Elder's mansion.
"Hu Ji, what’s wrong? You look terrible. Did the Elder say something mean or punish you?" Leshi’s ears and tail drooped as he looked at her with teary eyes.
"No, the Elder is a kind grandfather. He just warned me that the monsters in the Corridor of Memories are high-level. We need to be prepared." Hu Ji recalled the Elder’s instructions and hugged Leshi tightly.
"Don’t worry! I’ll prepare enough potions and gear. I'm not the helpless fighter I was when I first arrived," Leshi said confidently, showing off his growth stats from recent commissions.
"You’re so reliable, Leshi. You always know to bring enough supplies. I’ll be counting on you in the dungeon," Hu Ji said, falling into deep thought while looking at his data.
‘Usually, a status panel shows potential based on personal ability... but Leshi’s panel can't explain his strange powers. Is it hidden, or are the conditions for awakening not yet met?’
"Whatever. Let’s head to the depths of the Corridor. Perhaps the Water Mirror can reveal the mysteries within him." With that decided, Hu Ji led Leshi toward the entrance.
The Sea of Forget-Me-Nots
The two arrived at the entrance, greeted by an endless sea of blue Forget-Me-Nots. The azure petals swayed gently in the dim light, and the depths of the floral sea emitted a faint blue glow, hiding the path. It was so quiet you could hear a pin drop, save for the rustling of petals—a sound like the distant calling of old friends.
"Leshi, stay close," Hu Ji whispered cautiously. These flowers could trigger one's deepest yearnings and create illusions of loved ones. Once lost in memory, one might never return.
Leshi nodded. Despite his confidence, the melancholic blue made him instinctively grab the corner of Hu Ji’s robe.
"Dammit, they’ve appeared. Illusion monsters using the floral scent!" Hu Ji hissed. "They’re disguising themselves as villagers from the Fox Tribe. Leshi, no matter what you see, do not hesitate—attack!"
The peaceful atmosphere turned murderous. Hu Ji’s staff flickered with light, her eyes cold. The monsters wore the warm but stiff smiles of people Leshi had seen in Hu Ji’s memories.
"Ugh... I understand!" Leshi let go of her robe and clenched his fists.
An illusion of the Village Chief appeared, leading a crowd and roaring in resentment. "Why bring that dog here? He’s not one of us! He’ll betray the village and bring disaster!"
"Get out, you filthy dog! You’re a disgusting monster!" The phantom villagers began throwing stones at them.
"Leshi, don’t look at their faces!" Hu Ji shouted, her icy magic surging. "They aren’t the people you know; they are monsters trying to trap us!"
"These illusions are disgusting! How dare they use everyone from the village!" Leshi’s fur bristled as his mana began to overflow.
Hu Ji raised her staff: [Freezing Wind]! A portion of the phantoms was instantly frozen.
"Me too!" Leshi cried. His silver-gray mana touched Hu Ji’s cold air and, like a mirror, began to refract the same azure light. Even the condensation of moisture in the air became identical...
Skill Unlocked: [Copy]
- Effect: Replicates any skill used by a designated ally this turn.
- Cost: Ignores the copied skill's mana cost (requires Leshi's base mana to activate).
- Priority: Executes last in the turn. Fails if no ally uses a skill.
- Damage: Calculated based on Leshi’s base stats.
In an instant, snowflakes swirled, and the phantoms were annihilated. Hu Ji stared in shock, her mind reeling.
"Leshi... show me your skill list. What was that? A Non-Attribute using Water skills? That’s impossible!" Seeing the [Copy] effect, Hu Ji’s head practically started smoking. "Why do you have such a broken, shameless skill? It defies all rules!" She scribbled furiously in her notebook, her blood pressure rising.
Leshi looked at her with the innocent, "derpy" eyes of a Husky. "Is it really that big of a deal?"
"My head... this dog was sent by the heavens to punish my intelligence!" Hu Ji groaned, clutching her temples.
The Final Mirror
As they reached the Water Mirror, one last set of illusions appeared: Hu Ji and Leshi themselves, wearing malicious smirks.
"Tired of playing babysitter?" the Phantom Hu Ji mocked. "You should have just dissected that useless deadweight in the lab. It would’ve been easier to get the data."
"Heh, you think anyone actually likes you?" the Phantom Leshi made a face at the real Leshi. "You're a useless, narcissistic dog. The village is just using you. Once you're worthless, they'll kick you out!"
Leshi’s face contorted with rage. "Fighting the villagers was bad enough... but now you dare to look like us? DIE!"
"Agreed. My patience has reached its limit!" Hu Ji’s staff erupted with an intense blue overflow.
Hu Ji Unlocked Secret Art: [Diamond Dust]
- High-damage AoE Ice attack. Consumes Fighting Spirit (built through combat).
Leshi Unlocked Secret Art: [Mirror Reflection]
- Highest Priority. Automatically triggers a follow-up attack for every ally's Secret Art used this turn. Damage based on Leshi’s stats.
The two Secret Arts slammed into the phantoms, erasing them before they could finish their sentences. Exhausted, Leshi and Hu Ji panted for breath.
"Do you think an illusion of the Elder will pop up? I’m out of energy..." Leshi asked worriedly.
"Impossible," Hu Ji said confidently. "A third-rate illusion can't even read the Elder's form. Someone of his level isn't easily mimicked."
Finally, they stood before the Water Mirror. As long as Leshi looked into it, his hidden abilities and stats would finally surface in the reflection.
天劫嗎，為什麼偏偏找上我？明明我沒什麼修練可修為卻不停接觸天機，狐姬面有難色的從長老宅邸走出。
狐姬怎麼了，你臉色很難看？是不是長老說了什麼壞話懲罰你？雷希的耳朵與尾巴垂下淚眼汪汪看著狐姬。
沒有，長老他是溫柔的爺爺，他一直叮嚀著我接下來的迷宮思念迴廊魔物等級很高，要我們做好準備。狐姬想起長老的交代，不捨的抱著雷希。
別擔心我會準備好足夠的藥水和武器防具資源，我可不會像剛來村子時毫無能力戰鬥，雷希一臉自信秀出這陣子完成委託後成長的數據。
雷希真可靠，平時都知道要攜帶足夠藥水跟裝備，接下來迷宮可要靠你了，看著雷希的數據狐姬陷入沉思。
明明一個人的屬性面板理由顯示個人能力推斷出發展潛能，可雷希的面板卻無法解釋他奇怪的能力，是被隱藏起來還是條件沒有達成所以無法覺醒？
不管了，前往思念迴廊深處透過水鏡或許能顯示他身上那些不可思議的事。思考完狐姬帶著雷希前往思念迴廊。
兩人來到了思念迴廊的入口，眼前是一片望不到盡頭的藍色勿忘我花海。
該死果然還是出現了嗎？利用花香產生幻覺的魔物，那些魔物利用花香偽裝成狐妖村的村民攻擊我們，雷希不論接下來看到什麼不要猶豫直接攻擊！
面對著鋪天蓋地的湛藍花海，原本幽靜的氛圍瞬間變得肅殺。狐姬手中的法杖微光閃爍，眼神中閃過一抹冷冽的決絕。
這些花香不僅是回憶的引信，更是致命的陷阱。那些偽裝成狐妖村民的魔物，身影在花霧中若隱若現，臉上掛著雷希曾在狐姬回憶中見過的、那種溫暖卻僵硬的笑容。
「唔……我知道了！」雷希緊緊抓著衣角的手鬆開了，轉而握緊著拳頭。
出現村長的幻影帶著村民發出怨懟的怒吼。
為何要帶那隻狗進來？他不是村裡的人，早晚會背叛村子帶來災禍，幻影村長指責狐姬破扣大罵。
滾出去你這隻骯髒的狗，少噁心村子裡你這噁心的怪物，幻影村民憤怒的朝狐姬與雷希仍石頭。
雷希，別看他們的臉！狐姬大聲喊道，她的聲音在花海中迴盪，散發強烈冰冷的魔力。他們不是你認識的人，他們只是想把我們留下來的怪物！
這些幻覺好噁心，竟然敢利用狐妖村的大家！雷希全身的毛炸裂發出怒吼，全身的魔力不停湧出。
狐姬舉起法張施展魔法凍結之風，瞬間將一部分幻影冰凍。
我也來，雷希身上原本銀灰色的魔力，在接觸到狐姬的寒氣後，竟像鏡子一樣折射出同樣的湛藍光芒，甚至連空氣中水分凝結的頻率都變得一模一樣……。
解鎖技能複製：效果是可以複製這回合指定夥伴使用的任何技能並且無視複製後的招式魔力消耗，技能釋放優先度最後，且如果這回合夥伴沒有施展技能則失效（複製這招本身需要消耗雷希魔力，且只有當回合的技能有效無法儲存招式，傷害取決雷希基本數值）
一瞬間雪花紛飛幻影全部被消滅，狐姬看著這不可思議的現象發愣，腦漿彷彿凝固無法思考。
雷希你的技能表給我看看，那是哪招？無屬性還能使出水屬性招式這不科學啊？看著雷希技能表顯示複製效果，狐姬腦袋整個冒煙。
為什麼你的技能欄會出現這無恥的東西？這根本太奇葩破壞規則了！狐姬的那本雷希筆記本有增添一筆奇怪數據，血壓不停飆高。
雷希一臉二哈智慧的眼神反問狐姬有那麼誇張嗎？
我的頭，這隻狗狗真的是老天派來懲罰我的智商，狐姬按著自己快裂開的頭慘叫。
正當兩人抵達水鏡前時花海浮現最後的幻影，是狐姬與雷希，兩人不懷好意的嘲笑兩人。
當保姆辛苦你啦，帶著那個沒用的拖油瓶。為何不再實驗室直接把他解剖，直接取得數據少受點委屈不是更好？幻影狐姬戲弄狐姬說到。
欸，你不會以為有人喜歡你吧？自戀要有限度啊沒用的笨狗狗。村子那些人只是利用你，等你沒用了再趕出村子，幻影雷希對雷希擺鬼臉。
雷希的臉氣得直接變形，被強迫跟村子的大家打我已經很火了，現在還敢變成我們的樣貌，去死！
說的沒錯，我忍耐也到極限了！狐姬的法杖散發強烈藍色過剩光。
狐姬解鎖奧義鑽石星辰：全體冰屬性高傷害攻擊（奧義不耗魔只耗鬥氣，鬥氣每回合攻擊或受傷累積）
雷希解鎖奧義鏡像再現：優先度最高，只限施展該回合每名隊友施展奧義自動產生同樣追擊數值取決雷希基礎能力，非奧義技能無效。
兩人奧義砸下幻影雷希與狐姬還沒講完話就被兩人無情消滅，兩人氣喘吁吁的感到虛脫。
會不會待會出現長老幻影，我可沒力氣再戰，雷希累的擔心問狐姬。
不可能，那種三流幻覺連長老外型都讀取不到，長老那層級的人不是誰都能覬覦，根本無法讀取他任何資料。狐姬相當自信不認為有人能魔訪長老。
最終抵達水鏡前，只要雷希將臉給水晶映照，隱藏的能力數據將浮現在水中倒影上。
