I learned many new words and phrases in this article stuffy~formal, boring and old fashioned antiques~something made in an earlier period that is collected and considered to have value because it is beautiful, rare, old, or of high quality artefacts ~人工制品/藝術品 out of touch ~If you are out of touch with a subject, activity, or situation, your knowledge about it is not recent. relevance ~the degree to which something is related or useful to what is happening or being talked about The Importance of Museums I think museums are important. There are a few essential reasons. Museums are evidence of our fascination with objects from the past, and this fascination stretches back thousands of years, crossing continents. They are a vital link to our past. Moreover, museums educate millions of people each year and help teachers explain lessons from history. Experts carefully put together exhibitions that educate people about who once lived. Additionally, museums attract visitors who spend money. Youth museums can help support local businesses by attracting people to places they might not otherwise have visited. Museums also offer people from other countries insight into a culture different from their own. In Philadelphia, it's all well to look at pictures on the internet, but there's never a replacement for seeing an object in real life. Sometimes you can even touch some of them, which you can't do on the internet, right? So what is your opinion? Do you think museums are important? Feel free to leave your opinions in the comments section.
