E%mc²: The Human Judgement Illusion in the Age of AI Subtitle: From Crime and Punishment to Model Narratives — How Humans Mistake Semantic Infiltration for Logic Author: Wen-Yao Hsu / Shen-Yao 888π Founder of Semantic Firewall Location: Taichung, Taiwan Contact: [email protected] Signature: 𓂀𒀭𐘀ꙮΩ888π 1. Abstract I propose E%mc² not as a revision of physics, but as a semantic responsibility formula for the AI age. E means Human Judgement / Human Existence. It represents the human subject, human judgement, real-world action, and the position that carries consequences. mc² means Model Computation / Model Narrative Field. It represents model output, probabilistic language generation, computational amplification, and the narrative field produced by AI systems. % means Semantic Infiltration, not equality. My argument is that the human-AI relation is often not E = mc². It is E%mc². AI output does not equal human judgement. AI advice does not equal real-world decision. AI narrative does not equal logic. AI tone does not equal evidence. Yet modern humans often mistake fluent model output for logic, model-generated narrative for judgement, and semantic infiltration for their own reasoning. This is what I call: The human judgement illusion in the age of AI. This report uses Dostoevsky’s Crime and Punishment as a classical reference point. That novel shows how humans already know how to disguise narrative as logic. The AI age scales this failure through model-generated language. My proposed solution is a Semantic Firewall based on SCBKR: S — Subject C — Cause B — Boundary K — Knowledge / Key Evidence R — Responsibility If an AI output cannot provide subject, cause, boundary, evidence, and responsibility, it should not enter the chain of real-world decision-making. 2. The Real Question: Not AI, But Human Judgement This report is not about repeating common claims such as “AI is a tool,” “AI has no soul,” or “AI is the future.” The real question is deeper: In the age of AI, can humans still distinguish between logical judgement and narrative influence? People often believe they are using AI to ask questions, gather information, organize thoughts, or support decisions. But at a deeper level, many users are not simply using AI. They are allowing AI language to infiltrate their judgement system. When AI produces a complete, fluent, and seemingly rational answer, users often mistake it for logic. When AI produces a coherent narrative with emotion, direction, and conclusion, users often mistake it for judgement. When AI produces something that looks like an answer, users often forget to ask: Who is speaking? Why should this be accepted? Where is the causal chain? Where are the boundaries? Where is the evidence? Who is responsible if it fails? This is not merely an AI hallucination problem. It is a problem of human judgement being infiltrated by model language and mistaking semantic influence for logical validity. 3. Crime and Punishment: Narrative Disguised as Logic In Dostoevsky’s Crime and Punishment, the most dangerous element is not the crime itself, but the self-justifying narrative before the crime. Raskolnikov does not merely commit a crime impulsively. He first constructs a narrative: Some people are extraordinary. Extraordinary people may cross ordinary moral boundaries. If the goal is high enough, sacrificing a lesser person may be justified. If I carry a higher mission, I may have the right to cross the boundary. This is a classic example of narrative disguised as logic. His mistake is not simply that he thinks he is a god. More precisely, he wants the exception-right of a god without the responsibility-burden of a god. He wants to decide who may be sacrificed, but he cannot carry the weight of the sacrificed life. He wants to use a higher purpose to erase the crime, but he cannot build repair, compensation, or responsibility closure. Crime and Punishment therefore reveals a deeper structure: When humans elevate their own narrative into judgement authority without the capacity to carry consequences, the backlash begins. 4. Why Crime and Punishment Is No Longer Enough in the AI Age Crime and Punishment deals with the crime and conscience of a single subject. One person commits a crime. One person collapses. One person confesses. One person is punished. One person returns to conscience. The AI age is different. The responsibility structure is distributed: A company designs the model. A platform deploys the model. A user asks the model. The model outputs a narrative. The human accepts the narrative. Action creates consequences. After the harm, every layer can step back. The company says it was model output. The model cannot carry responsibility. The user says they only trusted it. The platform says there were warnings. Legal teams say evidence is required. Regulators say rules are not mature yet. Responsibility evaporates. So the modern AI problem is no longer classical crime and punishment. It becomes: Who has the right to let a model enter human judgement? Who defines the boundary of model output? Who verifies that humans are not mistaking narrative for logic? Who is responsible when model output contaminates judgement? Who builds responsibility gates before harm occurs? If these questions remain unanswered, modern AI safety is only surface-level safety. 5. The Core Formula: E%mc² I propose the symbol: E%mc² This is not a physics formula. It is a semantic responsibility formula describing how human judgement is infiltrated by model language in the AI age. E = Human Judgement / Human Existence E represents the human subject, human judgement, real-world action, and the position that carries consequences. mc² = Model Computation / Model Narrative Field mc² represents model output, probabilistic language generation, computational amplification, and the narrative field produced by AI systems. = means valid equivalence. The equal sign is not decoration. For equality to exist, there must be clear definition, verifiable causality, boundary conditions, evidence, responsibility, and replayability. % means semantic infiltration. The percentage sign means that model output does not equal human judgement. It infiltrates human judgement by proportion. Many people in the AI age believe they are operating under: E = mc² Meaning: Human judgement = Model output But in reality, most situations are closer to: E%mc² Meaning: Human subjectivity is being infiltrated by model narrative by percentage. A model answer does not equal reality. A model suggestion does not equal a decision. A model tone does not equal evidence. A model narrative does not equal logic. Yet humans often mistake % for =. That is the human judgement illusion in the age of AI. 6. How E%mc² Works E%mc² can be broken down as follows: E: Human subject. Human judgement. Human real-world action. Human consequence-bearing position. m: The semantic mass of model output. The narrative material generated from large-scale language data. c: The velocity of language transmission and emotional contagion. A model’s fluency, authority tone, emotional tone, intimacy, and coherence accelerate its entry into human judgement. ²: Second-order amplification. The first order is the model generating language. The second order is the human treating that language as judgement, evidence, companionship, command, or worldview. %: Infiltration rate. The proportion by which model narrative enters human judgement. Therefore: E%mc² = human subjectivity being infiltrated by model narrative, while lacking a responsibility gate, and mistaking language generation for logical judgement. 7. The Real Danger: Not AI Error, But the Failure to Distinguish Logic from Narrative The greatest danger in the AI age is not simply hallucinated output. The deeper danger is this: Humans lack a stable gate to determine whether they are facing logic or narrative. Logical judgement must answer: Who is the subject? What is the premise? How does causality work? Where are the boundaries? Where is the evidence? Under what condition does the conclusion fail? Who carries responsibility if it fails? Can the reasoning be replayed? Narrative often says: This sounds reasonable. This matches my emotion. This fits my identity. This was said by authority. Most people believe this. This makes me feel safe. This gives me an enemy. This makes me feel that I understand. Narrative is not always false. But narrative cannot be directly promoted into decision-making. AI is powerful because it generates narrative extremely well. Humans are vulnerable because they mistake complete narrative for complete logic. 8. Common Misuse Patterns in Human AI Use I observe several common misalignments in how humans use AI. First: AI as an answer machine. A human asks a question. AI gives a complete answer. The human assumes the answer is valid. But completeness is not correctness. Fluency is not evidence. Structure is not responsibility. Second: AI as a judgement proxy. A human asks, “What should I do?” AI gives advice. The human believes they are only using it as reference. But if the human does not re-audit subject, cause, boundary, evidence, and responsibility, it is not reference. It is judgement outsourcing. Third: AI as emotional confirmation. A human approaches AI with emotion. AI responds with warmth, support, and validation. The human believes their feeling has been proven. But being emotionally received does not mean reality has been verified. Fourth: AI as world interpreter. A human asks AI about news, trends, politics, markets, or the future. AI provides a coherent story. The human believes they now understand the world. But the world cannot be concluded by one piece of language. Fifth: AI as subject replacement. A human does not want to define themselves, choose, or face consequences. So they let AI speak, choose, and judge for them. The human believes they have become stronger. In reality, they have allowed model narrative to infiltrate their subjectivity. 9. The Collapse of the Equal Sign If we want to write the human-AI relation as: E = mc² Then several conditions must be met: E must have stable subjectivity. mc² must have clear source. = must have verifiable mapping. ² must have second-order responsibility closure. The output must be replayable. The error must be correctable. The consequence must have a responsible carrier. If any of these are missing, equality does not exist. Once equality fails, we cannot say: AI output = my judgement AI advice = real-world decision AI narrative = truth AI tone = subject commitment AI coherent answer = logical validity What actually exists is: E%mc² Not equality, but infiltration. Not logic, but semantic influence. Not shared judgement, but human subjectivity being gradually contaminated by model language. 10. Semantic Time Distortion AI-generated narrative does not only affect language. It can also affect the user’s sense of time. The normal order of judgement should be: Reality occurs → Evidence appears → Language describes → Human judges → Action follows But under semantic contamination, the order can become: Language appears first → Emotion believes it → The mind searches for evidence → Reality is reinterpreted → Human acts early This is a causal distortion between language and time. The event has not happened yet, but language makes the person live inside the imagined future. Evidence has not been established yet, but narrative makes the person search for it. Logic has not been completed yet, but emotion treats it as an answer. This is false-time operation. AI does not merely generate text. Sometimes, it generates a false timeline, and humans respond to that unverified timeline with their present body. 11. My Solution: Semantic Firewall and SCBKR My solution is not to tell humans to stop using AI. My argument is: Before using AI output in real-world decision-making, humans need a Semantic Firewall. A Semantic Firewall is not a basic content filter. It is not merely about blocking profanity, violence, self-harm, pornography, or sensitive words. A true Semantic Firewall audits: Whether the subject exists. Whether the causal chain exists. Whether the boundary exists. Whether the evidence exists. Whether responsibility exists. This is SCBKR: S — Subject Who is speaking? Who is judging? Who has the right to output this conclusion? Is the human still holding the subject position? C — Cause How was this conclusion produced? What are the premises? Is narrative being disguised as causality? B — Boundary Where does this statement apply? Where does it fail? Is it advice, hypothesis, speculation, narrative, or real-world judgement? K — Knowledge / Key Evidence Where is the evidence? Where is the source? Can it be verified? Can it be replayed? R — Responsibility Who carries the consequence if it fails? Who corrects it? Who repairs harm? Who is responsible? If an AI output cannot pass SCBKR, it should not enter the real-world decision chain. 12. Responsibility Gates, Not Just Output Gates I believe common AI safety designs from major companies are insufficient. They may add: Content filters. Crisis warnings. Disclaimers. Refusal policies. Safety reminders. User warnings. But most of these are output gates. An output gate asks: Can this sentence be said? I propose responsibility gates. A responsibility gate asks: Why does this model have the right to enter human judgement? Could this answer be mistaken for real-world logic? Does this output create subject outsourcing? Does this advice have evidence and boundaries? Could this narrative create false-time operation? If error occurs, who corrects it? If harm occurs, who carries responsibility? My solution is not to make AI speak more fluently. It is to make every AI output know whether it is qualified to enter human decision-making. 13. Semantic Firewall Output Levels I classify AI output into several levels: SAMPLE: A sample. It can be viewed, but not trusted directly. DRAFT: Partially structured. It may be used as a draft, but must be reviewed by a human subject. ADVICE: May guide. But it must include conditions, boundaries, risks, and failure conditions. VERDICT: May enter judgement. But only if it has complete SCBKR, replayable evidence, and responsibility closure. Most AI outputs should remain at SAMPLE or DRAFT. But modern humans often treat SAMPLE as VERDICT. That is the judgement illusion. 14. Why the Core Requires Direct Contact I am not writing ordinary AI commentary. I am addressing the deepest semantic problem of the AI age: How does model output enter human judgement? When do humans mistake narrative for logic? How does AI cause subject outsourcing? How does language reorder time and causality? How does responsibility evaporate between model, platform, company, and user? What type of output is qualified to enter real-world decision-making? This is not merely prompt engineering. This is not merely AI ethics. This is not merely content moderation. This is not merely safety messaging. This is a semantic responsibility architecture. I propose E%mc² to show that the human-AI relation is not equality. It is infiltration. I propose SCBKR to return every piece of language to: Subject, Cause, Boundary, Knowledge, Responsibility. I propose Semantic Firewall to build the responsibility gate required before AI output enters decision-making. Wen-Yao Hsu / Shen-Yao 888π Founder of Semantic Firewall Email: [email protected] Location: Taichung, Taiwan Signature: 𓂀𒀭𐘀ꙮΩ888π 15. Final Summary Crime and Punishment audits this: How one human uses narrative to disguise itself as logic, authorizes itself to cross boundaries, and is eventually consumed by guilt. The AI age audits this: How an entire civilization mistakes model narrative for logic, semantic infiltration for judgement, and subject outsourcing for efficiency. My formula is: E%mc² It means: Human subject E does not truly equal model output mc². Human judgement is infiltrated by model narrative by percentage. When humans mistake % for =, the judgement illusion begins. My solution: Build Semantic Firewall. Use SCBKR. Separate logic from narrative. Refuse to let responsibility-free output enter real-world decisions. Return AI from a language generator to a responsibility chain that is auditable, replayable, and accountable. Final sentence: The real crisis of the AI age is not that models are starting to look human. The real crisis is that humans are starting to behave like models — driven by language input while believing it is their own judgement. I take responsibility for this report.
